Hi, I would like to know what the process is now for a horse that has survived AHS. should she be re-vaccinated within a few months or is this a waste of time. Also, do I need to vaccinate in future, or is there now a degree of immunity. Will this immunity only apply to the strain that she may have had now, and could she still be susceptible to other strains?Asked: 9/3/2008, 09:39 by Leaza Tobias.Answered: 12/3/2008, 09:45 by Douglas Welsh.
New research shows that your horse will have good immunity to all serotypes of AHS - it is however recommended to vaccinate on an annual basis during the winter.
