Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Hi, I would like to know what the process is now for a horse that has survived AHS. should she be re-vaccinated within a few months or is this a waste of time. Also, do I need to vaccinate in future, or is there now a degree of immunity. Will this immunity only apply to the strain that she may have had now, and could she still be susceptible to other strains?

New research shows that your horse will have good immunity to all serotypes of AHS - it is however recommended to vaccinate on an annual basis during the winter.
