Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If my horse was vaccinated with AHS I on 16 May 2007 and AHS II on 6 June 2007, what date am I expected to re-vaccinate with AHS I again in 2008? Is it 12 months from AHS I or 12 months from AHS II?

Your horse should be vaccinated annually and the best time is 5 months prior to the outbrek period ( March) This is because the immune system of thr horse takes 5 months to have the best responce to the vaccine. It is also not uncommon to vaccinate twice a year especially with young horses. It is not a good idea to vaccinate during outbreak time (Feb - May)
