Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What would you recommend to large breeding in protecting their horses. They can't possibly stable 100 + horses, and have to live out in the felt?

Answered: 15/2/2008, 10:45 by Douglas Welsh.

This is a problem for all stud farms. The first protection measure is vaccination. Also consider vaccinating twice per year. Thereafter consider moving horses to high ground with better wind drainage as midges locate horses from CO2 emmissions and if there is some sort of air movement will limit the bite rate of the midges.
